Keep Moving Forward

Just Keep Going and Keep Moving Forward

We sometimes find ourselves in situations where everything seems to be falling apart to come together. We face challenges and obstacles that seem insurmountable, and we feel like giving up. But it is in those moments that we need to find the courage and strength to keep moving forward.

In one such moment, I found myself with no childcare and a presentation that needed to be prepared. I was tired, frustrated, and wanted to give up. But a voice inside me told me to keep going. I don't know if it was hope or faith that carried me through, but I got through it. And you can too.  I took what I knew, applied it, and moved forward despite the challenges. It was hard, and I didn't understand the point of putting one foot ahead of another. But I did it anyway. I moved one foot at a time, took a deep breath, and trusted that things would work in my favor.

I told my daughter we were going to class together, packed her snacks, and forged ahead to what I was familiar with. I was vulnerable because I didn't know how others would respond to the addition of my daughter, but I found a spot right in front when I normally would walk blocks. And when I parked, the meter was already paid for. I took this as a sign and moved forward one foot at a time, daughter in hand.  I finally made it to my destination, last but in time. I made a place for my daughter and focused on what I needed to do. The day before, a mentor had helped me put one foot ahead of another, taking time to compose myself, refocus on myself, and move toward my purpose.  It was hard because I didn't have practice, but faith and confirmation pulled me closer and closer to where I was supposed to be. And everything worked out in the end.

So, keep moving forward. Focus on your purpose and bring those you love along with you. It's okay to focus on yourself and put your needs ahead of others. Self-sacrifice comes in many forms, and sometimes, the best thing you can do is the best you can do with what you have. Others will accept it, and you will move forward. After all, isn't that what moving forward is all about?
